Jay Sammons is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder at SKKY and serves on the Investment Committee, Operating Committee and Management Committee. Prior to joining SKKY, Jay spent over 16 years at Carlyle, most recently as Partner and Global Head of Consumer, Media and Retail.

During his time at Carlyle, Jay led or was a key contributor to a number of Carlyle investments across the Consumer, Media and Retail sectors, including Beats by Dre, Supreme, philosophy, Vogue International (OGX), Ithaca, Beautycounter, and Grupo Madero, among others. Prior to joining Carlyle in 2006, Jay was with Avista Capital Partners and DLJ Merchant Banking Partners in New York and he began his career at JP Morgan. Throughout his time at Carlyle, Jay was a visible leader in DEI, serving as a member of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and a founder of Carlyle’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group.

Jay serves as a member of the University of North Carolina Honors Advisory Board, where he is also on the Executive Committee. He received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. with Distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
